Ahrgg help me! I have just purchased a Panasonic DMP-BD65 blueray player, we settled down last night to watch Sherlock Holmes which we had rented from Blockbuster and within 20 mins the film froze and would not play. I returned it to the shop and was told that I needed to download the firmware for the player. Is this the case?

most probably what firm ware are you on?

get the BD connected to the net and let it update.

Ive checked the Panasonic website and there arent any downloads for this model ,but will take your advice and connect to rhe net

The latest firmware is Version 1.22, to find out if your machine is up to date, what you have to do is go to the machine's setup menu and then go to the "System Information" tab which will tell you what firmware version is installed.
