Has anyone ever seen Rega DAC's internal built?

Does DAC's amplification section use OPAMPs or is it fully discrete with the use of transistors?

A description from Rega...

There is a picture of the Rega DAC internals, but it's hosted on another forum. So you will need to look for it. Sorry, house rules etc. (It only takes about 3 seconds to find though.)

Hey Chebby,

How do you like the R3s at the end of the Marantz?

Links to Rega's website are fine.

The photograph of the interior - that I referred to earlier - is posted on a competing audio forum and that is not fine under house rules.

Takes about 3 seconds to find on a google search.

From the read so far theres no doubt the Rega Dac performs but on a simple Dac to Dac basis, which performs better in terms of sound quality, this Rega Dac or the Dac in the Audiolab 8200CD? The reason for the question is because I want to know if it's worth saving the extra £200 and go for the Audiolab even if the use of CD's will be rare at best (if a friend brought one round) due to my music being stored in WAV form on my Mac. If the sound quality is better from the Audiolab I'll fo for that and vice versa.

Now thats a question many would like an opinion on, myself included.

A comparison would be very useful if anyone has tested both please?

Also, which is warmer sounding as Squeezebox source needs taming a bit
