Files playable on Arcam Dac

If I buy a Arcam rdac and play from a Macbook pro what files will it play, can it play Flac files. How does it work do you have a dedicated player on the Mac or can you play through any app/programme ie itunes or quicktime,realplayer etc

It doesn't play files. The files are played on your Mac using whatever software you choose to use. The software then plays the files and sends the digital output from those files to the Arcam dac either by USB or optical (whichever you choose to use)
