I currently have a Samsung HD-850 as an upscaling DVD player, bought as a cheap stop gap whilst waiting for the Blu Ray v HD DVD debate to resolve itself.

I'm currently looking at the Panasonic BD range as per my other post. The one handy thing about the Samsung is the EZ view button which fills the screen on my Pioneer plasma from a letterbox format. Do the Panasonic BD players have something similar to fill the screen at the touch of a button.

Just in case the plasma is a PDP-43E older generation 6(I think?) model.

EZ View is the great feature of new Samsung DVD players. However, the other functions are too difficult to operate.

I wanted to replace my Samsung to a Sony's because of its excellent functionality, but the EZ View function made Samsung a better choice.

I think most serious viewers watch the picture in the intended format. If you must lose part of the picture, or distort it, why not just use the TV controls?
