Electrostatic Headphones

Anyone use them? Which ones? Most importantly, are they comfortable?

With the obvious differences in cost (over standard headphones) aside would you rate them as VFM. See my headphone setup below....how much of an improvement could I expect to see spending up to 1K.

I have the Stax SRS 4040 MKII system, consisting of matching headphones and headphone amplifier. I think the sound is outstanding, very fast and open. I find them very comfortable, though the look a bit strange. You must buy both the phones and the amp, as they do not work from standard headphone amps or headphone sockets on regualr amps, CD players etc. I cannot compare them to the system you currently have, as I have not heard it, however, I am very happy with what I got for the money.

Have a look at the Ergo range here clicky from the makers of Jeklin electrostatic headphones. Starting at £150 seems pretty good to me and if I find myself with that amount of money I'll be getting one.
