My headphones broke this morning. I was reading the latest What Hi fi last night and they had a headphone test in there. There were some in ear ones for £50 i think that scored 5 stars, from a company begining with G i thinks (not Grados). Can anyone tell me what they are called so i can search for them on the net here at work?

Also, does anyone know if they have a volume slider on them? If not, can anyone recommend some that do? I need this feature as a lot of my albums are at different volume levels, and getting out the iPod touch on the tube at night isnt exactly a great idea.

Cheers

Well, there was an ad for the Goldring GX200 in-ears, which got five stars in October last year. But no, no volume slider.

And yes, that is a problem with the Touch - I have a friend who won't let his daughters buy the Touch, simply because he's worried about them taking the thing out to change the volume and getting mugged.

Thanks

It wasnt actually an ad, just one of the set of headphones in the test that was done. If i remember correctly it was on a left hand page if that helps!

Its frustrating that so many manufacturers ommit the volume slider function. I find it completely essentially when travelling around.

No definitely not over-ear ones. Maybe they didnt start with a G after all. Anyone?

beyerdynamic DT-X50 5 stars, top right on a right hand page

I thought you said this was going to be easy if I had the current issue?

Haha, i so lied! My god what was wrong with me last night?! I completely got the page and letter wrong!

Thanks for your help mate!

Its not that im afraid to get it out. Its just in my jeans pocket on the tube and its a right hassle getting it out everytime i want to adjust the volume. Which can be quite often depending on the music im listening to or whether im in a tunnel or not. Im not a massive fan of inflicting my loud music on others too much either, so tend to play with the volume a lot.

I'm sure the British Transport Police have heard that excuse a thousand times before...
