DVD upscaling - better done by the player or the amp?

I've just acquired a Marantz UD7007 Blu-ray player but will be playing some legacy DVDs too.

The Marantz has "Anchor Bay VRS" video processing while my Pioneer SC-LX85 amp has "Marvell". Which one, in theory, will offer better DVD upscaling?

And should a DVD film be upscaled to 24 fps standard (or this only a Blu-ray concept)?

Regards - David

Both are excellent processors. I suspect the difference will be very small. Demo both options & see which one you prefer.

24fps is number of frames per second. This has already been coded in the DVD. Changing it will result in unnatural motion. Yes, it's a boy ray standard.
