I have decided to keep my current setup but just add these two Pioneer products if I can get them for the right price and condition.

Seriously, before you spend any money, read the manuals for your products, try some different settings and set-ups, and make sure you understand the capabilities and characteristics of the products you own, are making the most of what they can do. Simply throwing more money at the system isn't the solution.

Will try that. Cheers.

You just buy stuff without even knowing what your doing. Start listening to people who do know
Uhd is 10 bit and your Samsung will be the best scaler for a 4k panel you can get for dvd or any other content.
The only content in 12 bit is dolby vision and there isn't any content currently.

The susano will sound no better than your current amp with how you have things setup now

You can choose to believe me or waste your money it's up to you. Somethings I understand you buying as it's an itch to be scratched but you don't even know how to run mccac to set it up if you do buy it. And mccac is a poor setup system by comparison to others it relys on manual skill you don't seem to have - no offence intended

Gel, have you ever heard a properly set up surround system, with a decent sub?....as Ellis says, it doesn't have to be mad money.

If you haven't, then everything that we have said is academic....and the first thing you should do, is hear what can be achieved.

Once that has been done, it may be the impetuous you need to maximize what you have, which is far from a shabby system.

Do you even know what 8 10 or 12 bit is ?
Its the video quality (I think)?

Nope
So how do you expect to know what your seeing compared to before and to expect a miracle improvement you won't see it especially as there is no 12 bit content yet some stuff coming on netflix in dolby vision which you can likely watch through your TV app for free.

If I had not said anything it would have been another dissapointed purchase because you didn't know what you was doing. Sorry to sound harsh dude but that's the truth.
Slow down and start asking and listening to people. We do know what we are on about. Especially me.

BB has never agreed with as much stuff I have said before. It must be killing him ;)

That's what I thought.

If you give the general area where you live, someone might be able to suggest somewhere to have a dem.

It doesn't need to be any specific equipment, just a well set up system that's in the ballpark of yours. FWIW. I like the idea of 5 LS50s with a 2k amp and something like a Paradigm Seismic 110 sub.

I got a 2K amp, and like the look of the Kefs, would that combination work? Cheers.

On the oppo 103 I have seen this playing on about a 4 metre wide screen huge screen on a Sony VW1100 projector 20k worth feeding a £100k+ steinway system of 16 subs and serious in wall and ceiling speakers and that was Amazing - nothing is amazing compared to that it's all very average to poor or worse.

That sets the benchmark then how close can we get in real world terms that blu ray player was perfect in that quality system theb it's good enough for any system for blu rays

The idea is simply to show Gel what can be achieved with modest speakers...nothing more.

You are used to hearing meticulously set up, highend kit. I think Gel will find it a revelation to hear what a competent, well set up system can achieve.

I would love to hear what you've done, but I'm in the wrong country.

I have given you 10 pages of suggestion gel and I am a stuck record mate I am afraid.

To Cno

It's not about just knowing high end kit it's knowing what works and what doesn't to create a true cinematic experience. I learnt this at Gecko and it transformed home cinema for me forever

For a film only system it's all about the bass that needs to be number 1 priority.
The bass is the bit that makes a film come alive in the room.
1 Seismic 10 is not enough.

5 ls50s be great though if you can work them in

Sucks your not able to come Cno your feedback be cracking. Let me know if your ever anywhere near the Capital of England Essex

Have you heard it?....doesn't mean you're wrong, though.

In a dem, you could have 2 of them (which I've also heard)....but Gel has a decent sub, so any decent Sub would do for demo purposes.
