Does Ipod Touch Sounds Better then Iphone 3G

Read review on Iphone 3G, nice to hear that 3G sounds better than previous model, but does it sound better the Ipod Touch, the reason I am asking I want to buy Iphone purely to have one device for all purpose but if Ipod touch sound is better, then I would prefer that and carry and buy HTC diamond to perform phone and GPS duties.

I also know network chip was upgraded on iphone 3g for speedy browsing, while ipod touch still carry the old network chip, any experience on comparing touch browsing vs iphone 3g browsing. I also saw new that Apple might announce new ipod range before christmas are there any major addition to functionalities expected.
