Disabling power amp on Audiolab 8000a?

I'm going to be using my 8000a as an input source selector & phono section only.

Im wondering if it might be a good idea to "turn off" the power amp side of things.

I guess the power amp won't mind having no speakers to drive, but is it possible to disable the facility somehow? It might mean it uses less energy or is better able to devote all its efforts into doing mostly nothing!

I don't think you can. You have a preamp out to use. This effectively bypasses the power amp bit.
