Does AVI ownership and forum participation come with a suspension of their logical and analytical faculties whenever hi-fi is being discussed?

I'm not aware of what you describe with all of our AVI owning brethren. Just one or two rampant dogmatists (who seem to get angry at the very idea of people using anything else) but, on the whole, a fairly normal bunch of folk who like their systems.

I have to disagree with you there Chebby. ;)

Most of the AVI religion cult members are barking mad nutters with an unhealthy obsession for garden sheds. :shifty:

Or should we post on What Shed

I'm scared to post elsewhere.

We moan but WHF is pretty ok to some of the stuff I've read elsewhere.

There is a 'pecking order' though. When the boys are getting too agreeable, the chief whip appears in order to 'put a bit of stick about' and ensure no-one goes 'off message'.

Whatwhat?

I feel vindicated.

Because this is one of the least awful hifi forums? What an aspiration.

Internet forums are awful almost by definition. That you suggest that this is one of the least awful ones makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Thank you.

'Awful'?

They (forums) all serve a purpose and have their own particular flavors. I tend to sway depending on what my particular interest in this hobby is at any given time ie. do I work on an amplifier or have acquired something ... .

Having returned here after having been banned (for a reason it has to be said) I find this place more liberal than certain others or than before I vanished. Not sure exactly what caused that but it seems to work most of the time.

There are more 'specialised' forums around to which I deviate sometimes but I kinda like this one. I do however, normally, not use online forums for social purposes but rather concentrate on their particular industry/media/purpose.

Happy weekend bunnies x

regards

Oh dear ,thats it then. Trust me on this PP , the yrs fly by towards the long lie down once you hit 50. Belated happy birthday stuff

That's reassuring. Not,

The ma-in-law said to me couple of years ago I'm entering the Autumn of my years. I replied with a horrified look: "Everything drops off in the Autumn". :?

Why are you scared to post elsewhere?

And where have you read stuff that is bad compared to this WHF forum?

Well, perhaps someone could make it replace "shill" with something less objectionable.
