Not sure if this has been covered in a previous discussion but I was wondering if the upgrade is a worthwile one? I luckily got my 1909 for just under £300 before the price increased so shouldnt loose too much in selling it. I dont use it for music as I prefer my old integrated for this and so the 1909 is used only for movies.

I think Pistol Pete may have compared them? Im sure the 2310 is a big improvement but spending £800 would then make me want to upgrade the speakers next.

Hello

I wouldn't bother personally, though the 2310 is a different story.....

Depending what speakers you have also, could mean that you would benefit replacing them if you went with the 2310

looking at your current I would not bother dude, you have a sweet set-up.

I would wait another year or so before upgrading anything

Hi Mohsin,

I would not bother upgrading to the 1910 either.......and as you have mentioned, I auditioned both, and the 2310 was much better. (Got mine for £699)

But to get the most out of the 2310, you would have to spend a bit on a speaker package.....my Q Acoustics set up is good, but I am aware that if I spend £1500 I could improve the speakers (But I'm not going to, nor do I have that amount of disposable cash at the moment!!!)

Stick with what you have, if I were you.....but if you have not replaced the mains cables, and have a conditioner involved, maybe spend a bit on that instead to optimise what you have already....

Cheers Pete, wonder how much of an improvement the new q acoustics are? I know the new 2070 sub will be better then the 1000si, I ditched mine ages ago for a BK xls-200. I found the 1000si fine for movies but boomy and a little slow for music. The 2070 has 2 smaller drivers so should be faster and alot more punchy. The new 2000 cinema package has got a great review but (i know I shouldnt say this) the new range looks quite plasticky!

I know what you mean about plasticky, but they are ok 'in the flesh'.

I only use my sub with movies, as I upgraded to the 1030i floorstanders to help improve SQ for 2 channel stereo...(Do you really use the sub with your 1050i's?)

I see they are not doing a replacement for the 1030i, but bypassing it completely.

I think the new 2000 cinema is meant to be quite a bit better, but I heard it at the Manchester show in the NAD room, and I wasn't overly impressed at all. Was it the NAD receiver? or NAD blu ray player? Or just the 'Casino Royale' disc?

I think it was a little low on volume when I was in the room, so didn't sound as amazing as it could have.

Im sure the gloss finishes look excellent but not sure about the walnut and the standard black. I use the sub with my 1050i's, I know it must sound crazy but the sub is set at 45hz and its plugged in using the high level leads so it only kicks in when the floorstanders start struggling. I have it plugged into the B speaker channel of my integrated and the floorstanders into the A channel so when I dont want it I just turn channel B off.

In my opinion I dont think the sound on casion royale is anything to be amazed at and find the likes of Ironman, Hellboy 2 and even Flight of the phoenix more enjoyable to listen to.

Mohsin maybe you can explain to me...when connected to the B speaker terminals, will the resistence (ohms) of the sub matter? say if the amp says when A+B is on speakers must be 8 ohm or higher..Do you know what I mean?

Well I asked the same thing to the manufacturer for BK subs and I believe I was told yes it will add a tiny load to the amp but as the sub has its own amp and the load being added is so small it wont effect the ohms rating for the amp. If that makes any sense?
