Denon AVR 1713 & Bose Accoustimass 10: Extra Base / Set up Advice

Hi Guys,

First post go easy with me please!!

Have a new Denon AVR 1713 and second hand Bose Accoustimass 10 System. All wired in correctly, speaker to sub to amp etc and all set up using the auto settings on the Denon.

Now, issue I have is the set up did not detect the sub, I see there is a sub port on the amp, but nothing on the sub box. Is this right?

If that's right, what are the best settings to use to get more base?

FYI: Room is 6m L x 4m W with the seating in the middle of the long length. Sub is about 3m from seating also.
