Hi Guys,

Need your help. I have the 1610 and it's a fantastic product, but i miss the "warm, full, bass sound" when i listen to music.

My speakers:
Front: IQ50
Center: Iq6
Rear: Iq3
Sub: HTB2
(Brand: KEF)

My settings.
speaker config

front: small
center: small
subwoofer: yes
surround sp: small
s.back preout: none

bass setting:
sw mode: lfe
lpf for lfe: 100hz

crossover freq
front: 60hz
center: 80hz
surround: 90hz
sw mode: lfe

front sp setup
setting: custom
direct/stereo: a
multi ch: a

audyssey on
multieq/; byp l/r
dyn eq: on
ref. lev: 0db
dynamic vol: off

decibel:
front-left: -1,5
front-right: -1,5
center: -1
subwoofer: -4
rear-left: -0,5
rear-right: -0,5

how can we create a better, more bass and full sound. The sounds what's coming of the Denon is now really flat and with our previous receiver a Sony QS the sound was richer and fuller.

The sound is perfect with games and movies, but sound now is very flat with music.
we listen music in stereo or in the direct mode (restore mode off).

set the speakers to large in 2ch mode with the sub off and see if that helps!

I'm sure that you can play music in stereo without the sub anyway, so that's not relevant. Your settings will only come into play if you elect to listen in some kind of multi-channel mode. In that case, I was going to suggest quite the opposite to the above, to make the sub work a bit harder. I'd try raising the crossover frequency for the fronts, especially. You could go up incrementally until you like the sound better - perhaps as far as 100hz. When I raised my crossover from 80Hz to 90 I found that the overall balance became a lot warmer.

I play music always in Stereo mode.

I will try to raise the crossover freq. of the fronts.

I have mine set up as 80hz crossover in main set up with the speakers set to small so the sub does the hard work, then in 2ch mode the speakers are set to large with the sub off and play music through pure direct mode. personaly i would'nt have mixed crossover settings just set them to 80hz for movies.

I prefer not to use DIRECT mode -- it disables Audyssey and tone controls so have no way to make the sound "fuller" . And i really want a fuller sound ;)

sw mode: lfe
lpf for lfe: 100 hz

what do you suggest?

Hello, those are all big speakers so you should not have them set up as small, they all should be set up as large. You have good speakers so, you need to try get the most out of them and only leave the bottom end of the spectrum for the sub mainly below 50Hz. Therefore I would not raise the crossover more than 80hz, you only need to put the crossover above 80hz if your speakers are small and you need to send all the bass work to the sub. Otherwise you will get a more balanced sound if you leave your speakers as large and put the cross over at 80hz or even better, below that to something like 60 or 50.
