Reading this months magazine was an article about dac's which says that every computers soundboard has adac otherwise it wouldnt have a headphone out. Now I listen to a lot of music via my laptop which is plugged into my av amp using the headphone out split into red and white analogue cables. The article says that these dacs will greatly improve sound but how do i connect to one if they only have optical/coax in's and i have a headphone out?

Depends on your computer. MacBook Pros, for example, have a headphone socket that doubles as a digital optical out...

Maybe get a DAC with USB input or also use a USB to SPIDF converter like the Musical Fidelity V-Link
