Hi

I want to use an Android smartphone as a medium for my music. I want to keep the music in wav, flac, Apple Lossless or some other lossless format. I want to transmit the data to a dac, which is connected to a traditional amplifier. But which dac to use?

What hifi recommends Cambridge Audio Dacmagic SX and HRT microStreamer, but can they be used to feed an amplifier? They are sold as headphone amplifiers and I am not going to use a headphone. And they have no phono outputs? Can they be used anyway? If not, what then?

I don't imagine you are going to be able to store a massive library of uncompressed files on an Android phone.

However regards the DAC if you read the blurb you will see the HRT has a fixed output 2.25volt minijack socket that allows you to connect to an amp. You would need a stereo minijack to 2 phono plug connecting lead plus a USB to microUSB lead to connect to your phone.
