hi,i have a Cambridge cx81 amp also a Cambridge cxnv2 network streamer. I'm thinking of a external dac to go with this.
I also have an Cambridge Alva st record spinner and wharfdale evo 4.4's for speakers.

How many DACs do you want Andy?
With another you're likely to get a (subtlety) different sound.
But not so likely to get a worthwhile difference.

Why do you want a external DAC? Do you want another sound signature?
Maybe its better to buy new speakers then a DAC?

hi,i have a Cambridge cx81 amp also a Cambridge cxnv2 network streamer.

The CXN V2 has dual Wolfson DACs in it and sounds great. I'm unsure of the reasoning for the additional need of a DAC, buy you're going to need to spend upwards of £700-800 to better this noticeably. It's more likely to give you a sound flavour twist than anything substantial.

I'd probably be looking elsewhere if you have money burning a hole in your pocket to spend on hifi.
