Cyrus CD6SE + Rotel Amplification, but what compact speakers?

I am in the process of planning an upgrade, I currently have a Rotel CD-06 with Rotel RA05 & RB06 Bi-Amplification. I am planning on upgrading to the Cyrus CD6SE and keeping the Rotel amps, however, I am unsure on speaker choices to investigate at a demo. Basically I have a smallish room, and prefer a punchy, transparent sound (hence the CD6SE choice) therefore the speakers should reflect this, and be either standmounts or a compact floorstander. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What's your budget? I'd immediately recommend the AVI Neutron V since it's almost certainly going to be within budget, but you should be aware that it's not bi-wireable or-ampable, so you would only be using the Rotel power amp. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but you might think it a bit of a waste.

I run the Spendor SA1s off an RA03 and it works very well for a small room, but at £1.1k you've got to like what they do specifically. They provide a very good tonal balance with extremely sweet treble and natural midband. They are also intensely fast in presentation. The bass that you get is very good but it doesn't go low. A worthy if not specialised recommendation that will only permit single wire. Pre and power combo would sound very good anyway, arguably better than biamping.

I think with your amp you could get away with a lot of speakers on the market.

neat motive 2's are compact and sweet little floorstanders. Dont know what they would be like with your kit, maybe someone who is in the know would give you a stear on that front.
