Wether it's a 42 inch Polaroid tv or a state of the art 4k or oled tv shop conditions are never going to be ideal for picture quality.

i would not upgrade to oled but I would if 4k oled gets a finger out!

the majority of the British public don't really care what there tv picture is like, they will watch it from the minute they get in the door til bedtime but still not care what it looks like ,how many people are sitting with their tv on dynamic mode right now.

It's in the same shops that majority of British public get attracted to TVs on display, and make purchases. 4K makes a good advert, and will attract buyers.

I actually saw my first 4K and OLED sets today at Richersounds in Birmingham (here on business). Both looked very good I must say.

The Sony 55" 4K set was displaying 4K demo content, I thought it looked brilliant, it was so detailed. I didn't see it with SD or HD content though. The Samsung 55" 4K set was next to a 'normal' 1080p set showing a trailer for inception. This was showing 1080p content and I did think the 4K set was slighty better than the 1080p set but it did back up the stance that we do need 4K content to actually make it worth while buying a 4K TV.

The LG OLED set looked brilliant as well, displaying a 1080p demo content. The picture was so inviting.

The 4K set certainly had the detail, but the OLED had the wow factor. It would be great to see a 4K OLED set

Was in my local JL today and they said the LG OLED has a dead pixel already, apparently it's par for the coarse across the branches.

oh dear, I wonder if that's included in the warranty. I read somewhere (can't think where) that most manufactures have a limit as to what constitues a faulty unit for dead pixels, some you needed more than 10 pixels to be faulty!
