CRT TV problem

My elderly father has an old Phillips CRT TV, and the reds seem to be running. Watching Wimbledon, it looked like red blood was coming out behind the players shirts when they moved. (Connected to Sky+ box only)

Has the tube finally had its day (it must be at least 15 years old), or is it something as simple as a scart cable problem ?

I had the same problem with Samsung CRT I lent the mother in law it had a red halo around news readers etc. Swapped cables made no difference even tried another freeeview box still red halo. Swapped the CRT for a JVC lcd tv problem sorted and the old video and dvd players work fine with original scarts. I bought the LG37LD4990 to replace the JVC and the LG is a cracking tv and its good with motorsport (Moto GP, Superbikes & Formula 1) I bought at Argos and they are probably local to your dad.

Like your CM8s by the way, but a bit more expensive than my B&W 685 Theatre. Nice to see that you have a Rega as well but my Planar 3 is lot older.

Best wishes

Chris
