Did anyone here make it to the Cranage Hall Audio Show last weekend? Some great gear and very well attended.

But I have to say I am disappointed at the level of coverage of the event in mainstream UK HiFi Audio related media - including what hifi and forums.

A couple of years ago, they pulled the plug on the Manchester Home Entertainment show and I find it hard to understand why all of us who are in this hobby cannot work together to promote these type of shows more. The whole HiFi Audio industry in the UK seem to be driven by a few commercial interests and that cannot be a good thing whichever way we look at it.

Anyway just my 2cents.

Whittlebury and Scalford are the two I know. Nothing up here in Scotland for years.

Perhaps you should have promoted it here before it took place rather than afterwards.

I didn't manage to get to it, but I do lament the passing of the Manchester show which Dad and I used to enjoy going to. There were, I understand, several reasons why the Manchester Show came to an end. One big one was the fact that the venue is chalked up for demolition, but also this was about the time the merger of Audio T and Sevenoaks was cancelled.

I hope we get it back one day but I think it is probably unlikely.

Yep, been there several times myself - it was one of the highlights of my calendar every year.

Perhaps the Manchester Audio Show organisers should consider using Cranage Hall - it is a great venue just 20 miles off Manchester city and with loads of free parking space.

I went along to Cranage Hall show last weekend and was very pleasantly surprised. It's a great venue close to the M6 in Cheshire, there was a very good turnout, many of the rooms were generous sizes and there were some great exhibitors too. It was even free to get in!

There are quite a number of reviews of each of the rooms on the Audiophile Musings website if you're interested in reading more (not my website, just giving him a plug, as other than on the Hi-Fi Pig website there's hardly a word about the show anywhere else on the internet.

I'll definitely go along next year.

Shame that What Hi-Fi chose not to cover it.
