My BD player is in the lounge and my computer and router in the dining room, so connecting via ethernet cable is not a proposition.

I have plugged a Netgear wireless USB adapter into the USB socket on the Panny, but it does not work.

Any one any suggestions?

You need a wireless Ethernet bridge, which will connect to the player's Ethernet port and connect to the wireless network.

i use the netgear homplug system with my pan bd player & pioneer amp

the 4 port powerline 200 av xav1004

and the homeplug xav101

The USB port on your Panasonic player will not work with USB dongles to connect to the internet. As stated by Andrew & Colin563, the 3 best options currently are (check the links for examples):

1) A long ethernet cable, which is not always practical (certainly not in your case)

2) A Homeplug

3) A wireless ethernet bridge

It's worth adding that the Panasonic will also need an SD card with at least 1GB of available space if the OP wants to access BD-Live features. A suitable card won't be expensive, of course - around a fiver - but it's an essential purchase just the same.

Tried ethernet bridge, but spent ages on phone to helpline but it would not link to my Sky router.

Got home plug device, and that works fine.

Wish I had tried that first!
