i have the nad c375bee connected from variable pre out 2 to fixed in on c272 i have attenuators fitted at the c272 fixed in,i contacted nad to confirm this is correct, they stated i should connect preout 1 of c375bee to c272 input

pre out2 of c375bee should connect to main in of 375bee with original link supplied

i tried what they stated pre out1 of 375 to c272 fixed input removing attenuators and fixing link from main in and pre out 2 on c375

when i tried a disc the sound was muffled and top end was hardly clear at all,i then tried

variable pre out 2 from c375 to variable in of c272 still the same muffled sound

i am now back to preout2 variable c375 to fixed in c272 with attenuators

i was told because the two amps are rated at 150 watts per channel each i should not need the attenuators which makes sense but without them and the way they told me to connect the two the sound is wrong any ideas would be appreciated

Why are you using attenuators on the variable outputs, to reduce the level of the outputs just reduce the volume control next to the preout 2 sockets.

How are you connecting the speakers, are you biamping ?

If I was connecting it up I would use the preout2 outputs to main in on the C375 (volume set to max), then connect the HF drivers to this amp. Use the preamp1 outputs of the C375 to the variable in (set input level to max) of the C272 and connect the LF drivers to this amp. This should be perfectly balanced as the amplifiers are gain matched however, if it's a little unclear or muffled reduce the input level for the variable inputs a tad on the C272 to knockoff some bass until you get a nice balance.

since the amps being connected and working happily,i played a vinyl album and half way through the c375 bee just closed down and stopped working like soft clipping but harder the power amp stayed on,i switched everything off then it started working again,it has worked without issue for a couple of hours i dont quite know what happened to it any ideas?

i've just tried it again and it stopped playing when i try to switch it back on it just clicks then after a short time works again
