Connecting DVD Recorder to Hi Fi Amp Advice

Hello

I have an old Cambridge Audio DVD recorder i would like to hook-up to a amp for the purpose of recording radio shows from a hi-fi separate FM Tuner.

I have hooked-up the input/output leads and i'm getting sound through, the problem i'm experiencing is when i press the record button, pause comes up on player display instead of recording.

Can anyone please help?

What happens if you then press pause? Most recorders of any type can enter into pause mode when pressing record. It's so the machine is ready to go as soon as you release pause, because you'd usually hit record a little while before you actually need it. It allows for more precise timing of what you're recording.

Nothing at all it just stays put, until i press stop! Even though i have formatted the rewritable disc on PC i'm thinking i will have to format in recorder?
