Hi folks first post and I am not a techie type at all but here goes:

Just bought a new Sharp Aquos TV (LC40LE600E) and I will have to wait a while before I can get a proper home cinema system. I also have and older Sony seperate Hi Fi System which has a Digital Signal Processing amplifier (MNC - EX9AV) and a set of surround sound speakers. Can I hook them up to my TV to use as a surround sound system in the interim?and if so how do i do it? The amp has inputs at the back for TUNER, CD, MD/DAT, TAPE, VIDEO 1, VIDEO 2 and MONITOR. Apologies in advance as I dont have a clue about this type of stuff!

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers David

Most tv's nowadays come with a optical output also the standard red & white RCA output. On rear of your amp if you have the optical input you will need to connect an optical lead. Virgin & sky can be connected in the same way. .
