Confused - Onkyo A-9010(UK) vs A-9010

Hi lads, i live in the Netherlands and they sell the A-9010 without the marking (UK)

i'm a bit confused.

Arent these amplifiers, besides the digital conncetions, completely identical?

all the other specs seem the same, or is my conclusion wrong.

As far as I am aware, the resources spent on the digital inputs and dac in the continental model have instead been spent on uprating the electronics in the uk version. Hence the uk model should in theory be a better amp using the normal analogue inputs.

You'll probably find the SKU difference is just that (UK) spec unit comes with a pre-fitted moulded UK 3-PIN plug as opposed to a 2-Pin Euro Plug. This is the norm with a lot of electronic devices for sale in the UK.

If you look on the review on this website it says it has been tuned differently for the uk market, which I presume isn't just about changing the plug.

Different capacitors and 'circuit tuning' in the UK version. The most informative review is Andrew Everard's for Gramophone at http://www.gramophone.co.uk/feature/can-a-%C2%A3200-amp-really-be-this-good-andrew-everard-says-it-definitely-can.

My Dad has one and is extremely pleased with it.

Well, you can't take anything for granted these days. The link from PM is very positive about it.
