Christmas coming up- Present for my system??

Hmm thinking about all things festive and need to start dropping the hints in to my wife for what i would like for Christmas. Thing is i am trying to think what i would change or add to my existing system so i can start popping the hints in.

I am pleased with my system but was just thinking, can it be better or more flexible??

The next logical step would be a dac. Was thinking about the Arcam rdac.

I want to improve the sound from my itunes on my macbook (which are all lossless) Will this give the best audio performance improvement or am i missing something??

Thought it would be a good solution as i can still plug my macbook into the display so the Front Row features all appear on my display.

If i am completely barking up the wrong tree here someone please tell me!!

Thought the Wireless Rdac looked like a neat product with the added feature of streaming my audio across the room.

Or should i opt for something else??

Was just thinking about it could stretch to the Audiolab 8200cd and run my macbook through its dac?? Would this be a significant improvement in the cd quality over my other disc spinners as i still buy cds.

yeah i'm in the same boat.. every year i say this year i'm not going to upgrade or change anything.. but this year i replaced the tv, blu-ray player and bought a secondhand ps3.. lots of wheeling and dealing in between.. now i just want to watch films.. so there's quite a few on my christmas list..

I understand this and went and purchased a good catalogue of blu rays. To me though i would like to improve the performance of the music on my macbook to my amp.

Perhaps a more stepped approach might slake your thirst for improved flexability? How about buying an Apple Tv (which is relatively cheap) and feed this directly into your great Pioneer receiver, which I suspect has a reasonable DAC on-board? This will allow you to stream your Macbook lossless music files to your system and listen through your glorious MA speakers (yes, a little jealosy in my words

. Then at a later stage you can add an external DAC into the equation to improve the music quality further?
