Hi Forum,
I am trying to install my rear speakers for my new system but the supplied speaker wires are too short at 8 metres, I need about 14 metres.
The speakers have an impedance of 6 ohms and maximum power output of 40W. I've tried to figure out what gauge is supplied so I can use that as a minimum but I don't know how to measure the gauge, does that gauge size refer to the individual strands within the bundle or the diameter of the whole lot?
Having looked at a few sites it appears that for 14 metres and a 6 ohm speaker I would need a 14 gauge speaker wire, is this correct? Does it actually make a difference?
Does anyone have recomendation of the gauge and then the manufacturer.
Cheers
David
