Don't think so Gray, you'd need a blu-ray player to play a blu-ray disc. However, blu-ray players can play DVDs, but can't play 4K UHD discs.I never watch films, but I presume Blu-ray discs are backwards compatible to play on standard DVD players - don't know why I presume that, since nobody should really want to do it.
Not the ones I've gotThanks Doug, that makes sense.
I somehow thought BD might have a layer of standard DVD.....in the same way that SACD has a CD layer.
(But I've probably got that wrong too 😜).
UHD players play the lot then. Not the ones I've gotIf you want DVD, that's a disc, if you want blu-ray, that's another disc, if you want 3D that's another disc, and if you want 4K, that's another disc

Generally Panasonic Blurays have RCA. I have there older flagship model with RCAs but even newer cheaper one tend to have them.Hi
New to this forum - looking to get a player with RCA output for our cinema project.
Any recommendations at the lower end of the price spectrum?
Manty thanks
Why does he need a DAC?The only real solution if the OP has a analogue amp is to budget for a cheap Dac.
Presumably, if the OP is specifically asking for RCA I'm guessing his amp is analogue only, unless you can get a digital cable one end and RCA the other end.Why does he need a DAC?![]()
We're thinking he wants composite or component video from his RCA socket(s)Presumably, if the OP is specifically asking for RCA I'm guessing his amp is analogue only, unless you can get a digital cable one end and RCA the other end.
Until he comes back and gives us more info, we're left in limbo in terms of advice. We're thinking he wants composite or component video from his RCA socket(s)
(He hasn't actually said, but mentions a 'cinema project' in the first post).
