I currently have 4 monitor audio r90 & 1 r180 speakers with a rsw12 sub and pioneer lx 83 amp.

I recently saw a great deal on some dali sensor 1 speakers and I am thinking to replace my front left and rights with these.

My my thinking being for music it would be an improvement. Would it mess up the sound a little?

You would need to get a Dali center speaker too otherwise you may run into problems when it comes to watching movies. Your front 3 channels really should be matched.

It's different with the surrounds. Though not ideal for getting the best out of your Home Theater it's fine having different surrounds to your fronts.

Also why would the Dali speakers be any better than what you have? I would hom demo them first to see if they are any better than your current speakers.

Hope that helps you.

Thanks for your message.

the monitor audio are quite small and for music with just 2 speakers they are not amazing so I imagine the dali zenzor will be better as they can be used in a stereo system but I can't imagine using the radius 90 for stereo only in a music system?

Fair enough.

Does your AVR allow you to set your sub to be used with just the stereo fronts? If your sub is dialed in correctly for movies it should help music sound nice and full. I currently have Monitor Audio BR1 which are quite small bookshelf speakers but they sound great.

No doubt some bigger speakers on my Hi-Fi would sound much better.

The problem is with using a home cinema set up for music as well is at what point is it just better to have a seperat Hi-Fi to Home Theater.

If you have a "B" speaker option and terminals on your AVR that aren't in use then maybe get the Dali's and connect them to the "B" speakers output and leave your HT all as Monitor audio

That way if your current HT sounds perfect to you and for your room size then having a second set of Stereo pair just for music, you just sit between the 2 depending what you want to listen to.
