CD reliability

I'm contemplating a CD player upgrade and, being very happy with the sound of the C521BEE, I'm considering the NAD C542. In addition to this I'm looking at the Audiolab 8000CDE and the Pioneer PD-D6. I don't want to lose the warmth and musicality of my current sound but think I could get even more detail. I am slightly concerned about general reports of reliability in NAD CD players, although I have had no problems with the 521. Should I be worried? Has anybody heard the Audiolab? This seems to be a really good price at the moment - £299.99 at Super-Fi.

I like the NAD CD players, auditioned the NAD 542 the other week and it was very good.

I currently have an Arcam alpha 9 CD Player which is fantastic and havent found one on the market yet for money that i'm prepared to pay for to change it

The Arcam CD72 is a very good player and with that budget you have i'd have a look at one of them on Ebay. They have great control, good bass and mid range and and clear, well timed treble.

I dont think there's better on the market for less than £300!

Something I'm going to experiment with soon is the Beresford TC-7510 DAC. It's about £100 delivered and I've heard some very interesting reviews and opinions on other forums. For that price you can't argue and it would probably be useful with a DVD player or PC if not your CDP. Have a read and dig through the Web.

Yeah cheers for the heads up. I have read it. It's one mediocre review of many good ones I've heard. I like playing and it will entertain me for a while. I think it depends on whether my next house move happens as planned!
