CD player upgrade

Hello all,

i am looking at upgradinging my Marantz CD6004 to a Cyrus cd 6se2. i was wondering if anybody had any experience of these two players and might be able to give me some sound

Cyrus kit is obviously meant to gel well, however, whether or not you like the resultant sound is not a given.

The only way you are going to find out is to try and audition it yourself. You might in fact find the Audiolab player may suite your system better.

Basically its not really a good idea asking other people about sound as everyones hearing is different and system/ room they might have heard it in makes a big difference to what you might find.

As you already have Cyrus amps, you should be a fan of the Cyrus "sound". Depending on your POV and your speakers this can either be "detailed" or "bass thin". An audition is probably worthwhile unless you can pick up your CDP second-hand on a "popular internet auction site" and thus be able to sell it on for what you paid for it if you don't like the result.

The Cambridge Audio 851C is a very nice player that might be what you're looking for.
