Cant get a picture PS3 and KURO - Help Im about to get the hammer!

Hi All, OK - Been using component cable between my PS3 and KURO. Today I got the QED PS3 HDMI cable as suggested BUT cant seem to get a picture. Ive followed the TV manual but somehow cant get anywhere. 1) Ive lost the PS3 picture altogether so cant see that menu (which I think I need to get into to change the output to HDMI!) Even now that Ive gone back to component I cant get anything! 2) Hoe should I tell the KURO im now connecting it by HDMI and what input should I be on ? PLEASE help me! A very frustrated Jamie the Magician!

OK then - Now have a great HDMI picture but no sound.
My understanding is that I need to connect something seperate for the sound so also have connected optical cable to the TV and PS3 and changed PS3 settings to show optical out but nothing.....why is this ?
any ideas ?

Actually looks like Ive connected the PS3 to the audio OUT on the TV so I guess that should be audio IN ?If so I havent got one so guess Ill use component for audio until my amp is set up right ?

Yes, you need to use analogue audio to the TV if you're using component video. But the HDMI should carry audio the TV can handle - set it up to carry only two-channel stereo and you'll be fine.

Selected the audio on PS3 to HDMI - Didnt realise that would work!
