Today I landed myself with two fairly large hifi speakers, the only problem is that I dont know what brand they are, so i was wondering if anyone could help me out?

The specs are:

3 way speaker

8" side firing subwoofer

6" midrange drivers

1" soft dome tweeter

Binding post connections

400 peak power

250 watts R.M.S

92 db/pw

Piano black fascia

Dimensions ( H x W x D)

48" x 10" x 16"

Thankyou

Strange there are no makers marks on it as it looks very well made sounds unlikely to be a 'home build'.

Are you sure their is nothing by the binding posts? The speaker layout is called a d'Appolito design and being front-ported like that makes me wonder if it is American.

Would you have any idea on the price per unit?

Not until we can determine exactly what the 'unit' is.

As usual the price is whatever anybody is prepared to pay for it. :)

To help determine what they are you might need to do more detective work by dismantling the binding post unit or indeed the front speaker plate and looking for more clues.

I have been unable to find anything that looks like it so far.

By the way how do you know the db rating etc if you have no idea what they are????? Just curious like. :)

Where did you 'land' them from? No hlp there?

They bring to mind some speakers by a company called 'Lake Audio' that were sold fairly cheaply on Ebay some time ago. I can't find an image which is an exact match to yours, but I certainly think this is the kind of thing we are dealing with here. Lake Audio no longer exists. I don't think they have much value due to the unbranded nature of them.

Have seen a couple similar to these on ebay. They were branded as "energy acoustics" speakers. I suspect to try to emulate a much better known brand But I think they are probably "white van speakers" of much inferior quality I'm afraid. If you google "energy acoustics" speakers, keeping the inverted commas in you can see some similar

Thanks Chebby, probably should've posted the link myself. I found these on ebay when searching for Acoustic Energy Radiance (as have a pair of these at the fronts and a centre and been very impressed with them. ). I don't know if the OP is from the south-west but there were a few pairs of the "energy acoustics" on ebay for sale at £400 odd initially

Energy Acoustic Radiance...

They sold for £100 last year. (When only a month old.)

Some joker on Gumtree is offering a pair for £500 (claiming that is half of their original price)...

Not to be confused with the real thing...

So presumably these are Chinese-made rip-offs, a bit like the bottles of "Chateau Lafeet" you find in wine shops in China.
