Can removing a power on/off switch make a sonic difference?

The Rega P3-24 is designed to work with a standard 'wall wart' power supply and speed change is via the traditional means of moving the o-ring to the larger diameter pulley after switching off.

When upgrading from the PS1 'wall-wart' the speed change and power on/off functions are all conducted from the TT-PSU instead, thus rendering the power on/off switch redundant.

On the limited edition coloured P3-24 that I have ordered (due end of September) there is no power on/off switch because these versions are 'bundled' with the TT-PSU.....

(No switch)

So do you think there will be any minor sonic/quality gain from losing the switch and the associated wiring? Or do you think this is just an aesthetic/cost-saving thing? (Costs less to drill hole, insert switch, wire it up etc.)
