Can I use a pair of active Wifi Speakers as surround sound speakers with an AVR?

I am considering purchasing a Sony OLED TV with Dolby Atmos, this has forced me to consider the audio aspects also, I have noted the Sony STR-DN1080 as a potential AVR to go with the TV, however I am trying to avoid the usual comments of "sounds nice but looks terrible with these cables" from certain family members 🙂 hence the question. I acknowledge Bluetooth could be another option although would suffer the higher compression...I welcome thoughts and suggestions as to what works best vs the compromises of which I am sure there are many!
