Can I use a centre speaker as a rear surround sound speaker?

I currently have a 5.1 surround sound set up and looking at moving up to 6.1 or 7.1.

I have a full MS (Mordaunt Short) speaker set up and was recently given a MS304 small centre speaker. Could I use this as a rear surround (6.1) or double it up to become 7.1 or do I have to buy another pair of traditional bookshelf speakers?

Any veiws?

A centre speaker is optimised for dialogue and would therefore not be suitable for what you have in mind. You would be best advised to get a pair of rear speakers that is meant for it's purpose.
