Cambridge Audio NP30 - Availability???

Hi everybody.

I wonder if anyone has any news concerning the launch of the Cambridge Audio NP30 music streamer/Internet Radio, etc???

I am looking for such a device to integrate into my current HiFi setup, and seen the recent launch of similar devices from Marantz, Yamaha and Rotel, but they are all a bit expensive for me.

A few months ago (May, I believe), the CA NP30 was announced for this Autumn (OK, Autumn it is), and the price should be around 400£, was said. That would fit my budget nicely. I am starting to run out of patience, though, and may consider stretching my budget and buy one of the above mentioned, if the NP30 takes too long to be available...

So, if anyone has any info on that subject, I would be highly appreciated to be informed.

$600 is about £370 or ?440... reasonable enough but not exactly cheap considering the number of good streamers on the market unfortunately...it had better be very very good !! And there are more upmarket models to come in future I believe ?!

There are many cheap streamers available, but they generally require a DAC if you want high quality sound... So IF the Cambridge has a good quality DAC inside the NP30 then it would be a good option for many persons... On the other hand, if the DAC is nothing special, then it would be better to just buy a Squeezebox and add an external DAC...

I live in Portugal, and I have found these two already on sale through a spanish website, both of them for near 1.000?... I trust the CA folks can once more produce a great value-for-money product, let's wait for the 1st impressions from the WHF fellows...

I for one would be very keen to hear and see it up close as CA have a good track record with their DAC's so would expect it to be of superior quality. I am attending a Hi-fi show here in Dublin this weekend and hoping that CA are represented so might find out the latest news...will keep you posted !! The 650 BD option may be relagated from the shopping list if it proves to be potentially a superior product as I am mostly playing digital music files these days !!

I am very keen to know though, apart from the additional connectivity options available, will the onboard DAC's be any improvement over those already used through my CA Azure 640R ?

Is there anybody that well informed to enlighten me please ?!
