I am looking at updating my aging Technics surround sound system so I was looking at getting a Receiver and some speakers to go with it.

Now I have been looking at the Cambridge Audio AZUR 540R V2 mainly because I still want to use my CD player from my Technics system, also I was looking at getting the Mordaunt Short Premier or the slightly more expensive Plus system. I want something that is good for music as well as a Home cinema.

Do you think this is a good combination or are there better options out there I only have about between £500-600 pounds to spend?

Wouldn't have any argument with that, MD - if you're doing the Richer Sounds thang you might also want to consider the Sony STR-DA1200ES receiver, which is currently around £300 there.

Thanks for the advice, I have been looking at the STR-DA1200ES but I thought maybe the AZUR 540R V2 might be better at playing music also have you any news on when the Cambridge Audio AZUR 540R V3 version will be coming out?
