Was thinking of the fatman valve carbon mk2. Basically it has got great reviews and an i pod dock. Read the great reviews on the Yamaha also but it is twice the money..
The fatman should work well with the BX2's as long as you're not planning to play at party like levels. I've not heard the fatman so don't know how it would compare to the A-S500. I suppose there is only one way for you to find out.
Yea am guessing so. Live in a flat so prob won't get to that huge level. More interested in quality. Btw do you know anything about the fatman speakers the tear drop ones retailing for about £350 can't find any reviews. Link here.
The BX2's have a high sensitivity and are a benign load so they'll be fine with the fatman. I am sorry i can't help you with the fatman speakers as i've not heard them.

rick, if you dont mind me asking, and apologies to the op for the thread hijack..
would you think a pm66se ki sig is a better amp than a pm7000?
id love to get a rotel 1062 having heard nothing but good things about them, but its very difficult finding a seller willing to post to ireland
Hi maxflinn
Yes, it is a close call but the PM66KI's performance edges the PM7000's. The RA-1062 betters both of them
Btw, as you are happy to buy used another amp to consider is the PM-64 from Marantz. PM-64's are hard to come but the time and effort is worth it. PM-64 easily betters the PM66KI, PM7000 and even the highly impressive RA-1062. Old is gold!
ah thats a shame rick, a remote is essential to me as i sometimes need to quickly turn the volume down if a real bassy track catches me by surprise
, i dont mind but my neighbours might
..
thanks again for your advice rick, ive asked a certain ebay seller if he'll post his ki sig to me, if not ill probably get a yamaha A-S500, i think id be quite happy with either
What about the marantz pm6003 £250 it pairs very well with the BX2s and you would gain alot more inputs and power for just a little more than the fatman??
