Buy new TV now or wait until 2013 range

I am looking to buy the sony kdl55hx853 but not sure if I should wait for the new 2013 range any advice?

I'm exactly the same position. If you read the thread I started on stand for the 55HX853 you'll see that I had pretty much decided to get it. But on the advice of Clare Newsome (former editor of WHF in case you didn't know) I waited to see what CES would bring.

I'm glad I've waited - I think I'm going to wait for the KDL-55W900A.

Thing is though, the HX8 is about £400 off original retail, where as with the W900A you will have to wait for spring to pay full retail. Is it going to be that much better? I have no idea, but this is the question to ask yourself 🙂

Yes I'm wondering about pricing myself. But Sony are expected to price new range aggressively as they are in a recovery situation.

Guess we'll have to wait for the first proper views before making our mind up whether the W900A will be worth it compared to the HX853. I do much prefer the aesthetics of the W900A and I know alot of people didn't link the plinth of the HX853.

I think Im going to go for the hx8 pc world are doing it for £1500 I would say the w900a will be near the £2000 mark and I dout there will be a huge diffrence of quality plus the stand isent a worry as I will be wall mounting it

Gel, that was my first initial impression when I saw it as well but I think its the odd angle at which that press release photo was taken. This is a better photo which shows it head on as you would normally view it.

Oh yeah! It does look better from this angle! That looks like it doesnt weigh much too.
