Hi,

Right now I have a Klipsch dock for my iPod, i really like the sound

But I think iam ready for some real hifi .

I can get my fathers NAD 355 amp and a NAD cd player, so i only need new speakers.

I definitely do not want bass heavy speakers, they need to stand very close to a rear wall (10-20cm)

budget is about 300 Pounds (inc. stands for standmounters)

Can someone help me? I

For that budget, have you thought of looking for some second hand speakers? You could get a very nice pair of used B&W 602 S3 for that, with enough left to get some decent stands. The later 685 would go well too, but they are probably still too new to be within your budget.

685 aren't these very boomy? I do not like too much bass because I want them close to rear wall.

I did home demo my dad's MA rx6 and I did not like the sound, too boomy.

B&W provide a bung to fit in the ports of their speakers, which does have a marked reduction in the lower bass. The 602s have a front port, which makes them less sensitive to wall closeness.

I doubt you could find a pair of 685s and stands within your budget

Otherwise I could go for Dali Lektor 1?

I haven't heard any of them sorry, but many on this forum think that MA match well with NAD electronics. Wait and see you might get some comments on this list.

well I made a final list with pair prices in euro's:

-Mordaunt short mezzo 1: 200 euro

-Mordaunt short mezzo 2: 350 euro

-Dali Lektor 2: 400 euro

-Dali Ikon 1: 400 euro

-Epos ELS 8: 400 euro

-Jamo C 603: 350 euro

-Tannoy DC4: 350 euro

-Wharfedale 10.1 : 240 euro

- Kef iq10: 400 euro

Can someone give me some advice, what is good value for the money, love to be close to rear wall (max.30cm), and have good synergy with my NAD 355 amp and 545 cd player.

Would be warm welcome

thanks

I don't know what price you can get them for where you are, but the Mission 792s are awesome speakers. Try to audition them if you can.

The Mordaunt-Short Mezzo 2s are also excellent, as are the Dali Ikon 1s which work extremely well with NAD gear and actually love to be right up against the rear wall firing straight ahead.

There is no Mission dealer nearby my living are.

I don;t know ik can demo the ikon 1's cause the new ikon serie has arrived.

Next tuesday i will demo some speakers:

they have monitor audio, wharfedale, neat, b&w, dali and audip physic.

So i think i will demo:

Wharfedale 10.1, Dali Lektor 1 & 2, B&W 685, Monitor audio bx1,2 & rx1 & maybe the neat motive 3 (over my budget but I will try if they are better).

Any other advices?
