Budget Setup Advice for a newbie?

Hi all, I am looking to get a turntable and speaker setup and I am torn between two options. I was looking to spend in the area of £300 ($400), I'm not an audiophile but would like something that sounds half-decent, and whilst I would prefer something more plug-and-play, I am not averse to a bit of tinkering.

The two options I am looking at from local record shops are:

Audio Technica LP3X-BT turntable and Edifier 1700BT active monitors, both new, for £329 ($440) - seems like a good deal, simple setup, and both elements seem well reviewed

Pro-Ject Debut 2 turntable, Yamaha AX470 amp, and Celestion Ditton 100 speakers, all second hand, decent condition but by no means perfect, £250 ($334) - The price is rather more attractive but since the components are all older I am struggling to get a handle on whether this is actually a good deal or not.

Any advice would be gratefully received, many thanks in advance

Both options will certainly work, at least with option one you will know the cartridge is in good condition although the Debut 2 is the better turntable.
Turntables will be best connected to active speakers by a cable rather than relying on Bluetooth.
Option two gives you more scope for future upgrades.
Are you sure you want this? What I mean is, if I were starting from scratch today I wouldn't own a vinyl based system.
Do you already have a collection of vinyl?
