If I connect a blu-ray player to a stereo amp using the L/R RCA connections, will I be able to get 24-bit / 192 kHz stereo PCM?

The reson i ask is this is (one of) the format that the Neil Young archives are being released in. So basically will I get a better sound quality from a blu-ray player (say panasonic BD35) connected to my rega amp, or should i just get the CD version of the Neil Young archives and play these through my trusty Arcam CD player? (the blu-ray edition is $300 and the CD edition is $100...)

I don't have an AV amp and won't be getting one as it's not practical for me...

Greatful for any help/advice!

Cheers

I dont remember ever connecting dvd player to stereo amp.but with home cinemas 2.1 the voices (center chanel )are always a bit low on volume. Guess that will also happen with stereo only amp.
