blu-ray playback on KDL-26V4000 (24p capability) ...

First time posting ... be kind

I have a 26" Sony KDL - 26V4000 lcd television and it's great. I recently bought a Blu-Ray Player - Sony BDPS 350 - and although the picture quality is incredible when playing regular DVDs when I tried to watch The Shining on Blu-Ray, I detected a slight shuddering of the picture. This is despite my tv having the capacity to watch Blu-Ray discs at 24p . Do I need to enable this function on the tv? And if so, how?

Also, should I be setting my Blu-Ray player at 720p or at 1080i? Which gives the best quality in playback?

I'm afraid you're stuck with the judder as neither the 26V4000 or 32V4000 have the ability to display a true 24p signal.
