Bi Amping RS6 with Onkyo 875

Hi All,

Reading the documentation on my new 875, I was pleased to see that I could use the rear effects channel to Bi-Amp my RS6 speakers. I then read that because they were 6 ohms, I could not do this because it would damage the receiver. I have rudimentary electronics knowledge, but do not understand why this would be. Does anyone have an explanation? Are Onkyo being overly cautious? Has anyone tried this?

Yes, being overly cautious. You'll have no problems at all doing this.

Thanks very much Andrew. My supplementary question. Have you ever tried Bi Amping with the 875.? If so, does it make a big difference?
