Afternoon all

Quick one for you please, I've recently picked up the above set and will be installing it soon. However, I'm worried that I'm not going to get the benefits of the room design its going in. My room is 16 foot long x 7.5 foot wide. So with a viewing distance of well over 12 foot, I'm assuming that the quality will be lost??

Would it be best to swap the room round and view from 6 foot?

Got the electrician coming in tomorrow to fix all my points!

All the best, Nick

This is very much depending on what kind of material you are watching.

In general around 12 feet to a 50 inch screen is ok.

For BluRay movies 6 feet is perfect! You will get all the fine details. But you probably wouldn't like to view a SD signal from that distance. It will always be a compromise.

Thank you chaps, good of you both. We've got Sky HD and watch limited blu-ray's. Most viewing is in HD, but of course there will be numerous occasions where its SD, kids etc. If I moved tv's about, could I go with a 60" at 15 foot?

would it be possible to pull the couch a little closer when watching blurays ? thats what i do .. for normal sd i watch my 46in from about 9ft and its perfect for me ..

a 60in screen from 15ft would be fine imo..

Or get some decent casters for your sofa and let your viewing distance be flexible....
