Best HiFi System For £1600

Just thought I'd start a thread for people to post what they think the best budget system would be given a £1600 total budget.

Here's mine. This is a killer system for the money:

They are dynamic, engaging, musical, exciting, and very balanced sounding with no real weaknesses =D

Sorry, jax - I don't really understand the point of this thread because we are all biased, therefore all our systems are the "bees knees."

I spent ~£1850 and actually get the same, I like the MA's but the salesmen of their other store didn't gave a chance to demo and that's why I got Focal's and spent more money.

Anyway it's ok for the first system?

Hey Jax did you pick up the c275bee? I thought you had a different amp.

I just got the c165bee and like it quite a bit. It hasn't run in but it is sounding nice from the start. I really love the look of it and it is so flexible. Had some issues with the remote not controlling all functions on my c425 but was able to program it. I think I am getting used to the remote and while not intuitive it does cover all bases. Whole rig is NAD now (c425, c545bee, c165bee, and c275bee) and I am content.

Sounds good to me, but I've not heard any other combinations so haven't a clue how it compares with other makes.

What about Creek Evo?

I'm at the point of buying a "priceable" new hi-fi set in a few weeks ...

I don't know what to choose.

My local dealer said Creek Evo (Ampli + CD) is one of the best sets next to the more popular alternatives such as Cambridge Audio, Marantz, Nad,...

Reviews are hard to find, but according to him "Creek Evo" is sounding more musically than other "good rated" sets in this price class mentionned here above.

A bit more expensive than the other ones, but if sound quality judges this higher price (it's not that much) I would buy the Creek Evo.

What do you think?

I agree with the evo.

My bedroom system was 379 for the apollo, 345 for the evo, 411 for the leema's, 145 for the stands and 66 for the chord.

It comes in alot less than the 1600, and sounds superb, but I would be slightly biased in that opinion....
