the quality of the soundtrack might be personal, but the audio quality is very good.

Hi ellisdj
Not really. The Lone Ranger being an example. Excellent picture quality but with all the money they spent on this movie a soundtrack which is flatter than a pancake I'd rather listen to Prometheus *biggrin*
All the best

Thompsonuxb said:Sorry Pacific Rim is a woeful movie. Colour, sound dreadful.
The Wolverine - picture and sound, good dialog.
Star trek into darkness - very good all round.
bigboss said:Agreed - Pacific Rim sound is brilliant.
Thompsonuxb said:Wow, ellisdj
As stinkers go Pacific Rim was it. It was so bad it gave me bronchitis!
Usually I can tolerate poor movies appreciate the picture and sound but this?
The colour was off and the sound did not impress. Took it back to CEX next day worst BD I have experienced.
Son_of_SJ said:Well Thompsonuxb, regarding the merits of Pacific Rim, it seems to be you against the world - or specifically against ellisdj, bigboss and Vincent Teoh!
Bigboss and Vincent, thank you for your comments on the 3D version of Pacific Rim, it's at HMV on offer of two 3D Blu-Rays for £25, so that will be my next purchase.
I gather that the plot of Pacific Rim is not the most demanding, but hey, there's absolutely nothing wrong with two hours of popcorn movie!
In a very similar non-intellectual vein to Pacific Rim, and equally good demonstration material for both picture and sound, is Battleship, which I own. Home Cinema Choice magazine rated the Blu-ray as reference for both picture and sound.
