Best bang for buck floorstanders to go with Cambridge audio Azur 640c cd and amp

Hi , have a new azur 640c cd and amp here and looking for some room freindly floorstanders or small speakers on stands
that will suit this system and i guess give really good value for money.

Theya re in a room about 15 feet by 20 but i wont be able to have the out in the room as is ideal.

One condition is the wife 🙂.......as usual.

I had pondered a pair of old b/o active beolab 6000's via the pre out and maybe someday a sub by them.

I listen mainly to ambient and quite chilled music with smooth bass ( not into super lows ) but also some clean digital electronic music .

Money wise i would like to spend a couple of hundred but the b/o are double that for a pair.

Any other things i should be looking at ? or is their anything thats just super price x quality these days .

Last speakers i owned were castles which i liked.

Keep wondering if the B/o beolab make a good speaker used alongside stuff like Cambridge audio or if thats totally the wrong choice ?

Thanks for any advice , i am ignorant of whats good , bad and ugly so respect peoples feedback.

I've always liked the combination of Cambrige Audio and Mordaunt-Short. Some people assume this combination would be overly bright, but having owned 2 or 3 such set-ups I'd say the sound is well balanced, detailed, and involving.

You might be able to pick up a used pair of MS Avant 914i floorstanders which are excellent or, even better if you can consider standmounters, look out for some Mezzo 2 , which are fabulous speakers.

What's your budget?

Your best bet would to be to listen to some speakers yourself and make up your own mind which you like the most. However considering you liked the sound of Castle speakers then the Q Acoustics 2050i would be worth an audition because they're quite smooth sounding like the Castles.
